KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER (KYC)

The RBI as a part of Know Your Customer (KYC) policy has issued several guidelines relating to identification of depositors precautions to be exercised while opening the accounts for new customers and scrutiny/monitoring of large value cash transactions. In the process, customers are advised to submit any one of the following documents from each group as a proof of identity and as a proof of address.
 
1.  Proof of Identity
a. Passport.
b. Voter Identity Card.
c. PAN Card.
d. Government / Defence Identity card
e. Aadhaar Card.
f. Driving License with current address
g. ID Card of reputed employer.
h. Letter from a recognized public authority / Public Servant verifying the identity and residence of the customer.
 
2. Proof of Address
a. Credit Card / Bank Account Statement (Latest)
b. Ration Card
c. Income / Wealth Tax Assessment Order
d. Electricity Bill
e. Telephone Bill
f. Letter from a reputed employer
g. Letter from a recognized public authority / Public Servant verifying the identity and residence of the customer.
h. Copies of registered leave and license agreement / Sale Deed / Lease Agreement.
